Production Log: Going Through Blog

Over the weekend I did another research task on music channels. Today I listed out all the other research tasks that need to be done. I feel once I get all the research tasks out of the way I can concentrate on the planning. I also realised that I haven’t received any feedback about my idea for the music video so that also needs to be done. I am happy that I have kept up to date with my production logs unlike my AS coursework where I found myself doing them but luckily I remembered what I had done however I didn’t want to make the same mistake time.

Production Log: Starting to Plan

During the week I did another research task which was music videos that I admire. I found this task really easy as I have spent quite a bit of time during this course looking at music videos and had picked out a few favourites. Today I came to know that there is an actual software to write out the script as well as the storyboard called Celtx. So I worked on the script and copied out what I had done so far onto the software.

Production Log: Watching Students' Music Videos

Over the weekend I did another research task about the artist of my song which is Selena Gomez. Today I looked at music videos of students from this year so all technology used would have been latest which gives me an idea what kind of music video at what standard can be produced. I found this quite helpful and challenging because those music videos I found good didn’t achieve that high marks than I thought it would be which suggests that I need to make my music video even better.

Production Log: Creation of Dress in Progress

During the week I did another research task, ‘Music Video Theory’. This task enlightened me a lot as it told me what is typically seen in music videos and what is needed to make it a music video. Also this week, I got to see the black dress that my friend is working on for me and for her own textiles portfolio.

Today I looked at DigiPaks and what they are as I have to do 2 research tasks on DigiPaks. Now that I have seen them, I can’t wait to create one for my music video.

Production Log: Watching Music Videos within my Genre

Over the weekend I only got round doing one research task which was about the music genre pop. This allowed me to look at more pop music videos and how they have changed throughout the years. Hopefully over the week I will do another research task. I continued with the script but didn’t progress much further as I don’t where to put the ideas I have in the song. It did cross my mind to change the song but I thought that the idea of the whole two alter egos was pretty good and makes my music video unique and also my model feels comfortable with this song.
